Fundraiser Kickoff For Our Bike Shop-In-A-Box Pilot Program

Our grassroots efforts have gotten us to a place where we are ready to raise money to fund our very first Neighborhood Bike Shop-In-A-Box! 

What is a Neighborhood Bike Shop-In-A-Box? 

This Neighborhood Bike Shop-In-A-Box prototype is the first of its kind. Oftentimes, neighborhoods that want to start a community Bike Gang might not have the equipment, supplies and space to do what is needed to repair bikes and store bikes that are ready to be gifted. The Neighborhood Bike Shop-In-A-Box solves this problem!

What We Need

This initial prototype will consist of: 
  • 20' shipping container
  • Roll-up garage door with lock
  • Steel exterior personnel door with lock
  • Skylight
  • Flooring (spot repairs)
  • Repairs, flooring, walls
  • Logo area for sponsors
  • Exterior paint (floor, non-slip)
  • Painting, doors, walls, flooring
  • Ramp, 6.5" x 34" wide to take out the mobile work bench and bikes
  • Canopy, 10'x10'

Inside the Bike Shop-In-A-Box:
  • Mobile work bench
  • Mechanic tool kit
  • Shelving unit
  • 2x4x12'
  • 2x4x8'
  • Deck screws, 1lb.
  • Bike hook
  • Sponsor logo plate 36x48x0.125

Services we will need include: 
  • Exterior priming
  • Exterior painting
  • Logo painting
  • Installation, doors/skylights

Other things we will need:
  • Building permit
  • Sign permit
  • Site plan
  • Structural engineering review
